Embracing change and risk in midlife.
As mid-life approaches it is normal to stop and reflect on what you have achieved in life so far embracing new challenges ahead.
For many this may include one of admiration and feeling proud, maybe thinking of raising your family, helping others, remembering places that you have travelled, and goals and ambitions fulfilled.
But even with these amazing thoughts of the past, do you sometimes feel lost, even unfulfilled, maybe wondering what your inner purpose is beyond others?
You’re not alone, this feeling can often occur at any time not just in your mid-life, grown up children flying the nest, maybe a change in relationships.
Its’ how we react to those feelings that matter the most.
Having a positive and grateful outlook on life pays dividends and realising you have the control to write the next chapter is quite empowering.
You may like to start by writing down all the things you would love to do, new goals for example, maybe volunteer, learn a new skill, travel, or join a group. You may then like to write down what’s stopping you too!
