Distracted whilst eating?
Creating awareness of what you are eating, including where and when can be a clear indicator of your eating habits.
Eating whilst watching televisions, talking, or simply multi tasking can be the clue to over eating and feeling unsatisfied.
Research has shown eating with distraction can increase calorie consumption with larger servings, often resulting in eating more.
Try these 3 simple steps towards being more mindful
- Make time to sit at a table without distractions
- Notice what your eating, the shape and flavours of your food
- Eat healthy nutritious and colourful foods which evoke interest and different textures
And a great way if you are multi skilling when eating, is to ask yourself ‘what did I last eat from my plate?’
